I remember how I felt when I heard that my great, granddad died in world war one. I wondered how he died but I knew he must have been shot. When I asked my granddad what he thought he said he said he saw him, being shot in the chest. When I got home and I went to bed I, couldn’t sleep I was crying all night finally, my mum heard me and gave me a photo, of my great granddad I kept crying but now I was a bit better. Then I woke up and held the photo tightly.

Jessica,
Great reflection on how you feel about your great-grandfather!

Next time, have someone check your writing for complete sentences before you post; you have some errors in punctuation.

Hello Jessica,

My great grandfather was in World War One and in fact spent time as a prisoner of war. He wrote a diary every day. My cousin has this diary. He talks about only having 7lbs of barley to make broth for over 300 soldiers.

Memories are really special. No one can take them away.

As well as checking the punctuation, see if you can use different sentence starters other than when and then.
